 TRADITIONS & EVENTS

FERTILIA'S PROUD

In Fertilia we have lots of traditions to commemorate the values and core of our country. These represent the identity of the Fertilians and their leader.

Every year we remember the year 1960 whenFertilia became an independent country. This we do by organizing impressive parades of our strong army with our soldiers, weapons and other artillery. They march through the capital singing our national anthem to honour our great leaders. They gather at the statues of our leaders where they will be saluted with gunshots. In the evening there will be a big feast for all the people at the leader’s residence until the early morning.

Fertilia is very proud of her strong and big army that preserves and protects the country from its enemies. Through advertisements Fertilia wants to show how proud the country and its inhabitants are of their army.

DEATH ROW GAMES

To commemorate the victory of the civil war in 2003 against our enemies, we organise annual Death Row games on our prison island. It’s an event where a selection of prisoners are confronted with other prisoners and fight till death until there is only one prisoner left alive. Inhabitants can place their bets on the prisoner they think will survive. The survivor will be set free but can’t stay in Fertilia. He or she will have to go to another country. Every year the games start on the 4th of April.

FERTILITY AWARD

As you may know, in Fertilia you are obligated to make at least 6 children. To encourage our citizens, we invented a special award called the 'Fertility Award'. Every nine months we, the government, award the families who have the most children or have the biggest family. First of all the family receives a gold medal and 10.000 Fertils. Second of all they get a meet and greet with our great leader, Nicolus Fertilus.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the 21th of May 1960 Fertilia became independent. We finally had our first leader who introduced us to the capitalism. He was called the great Phillipus Fertilius. Phillipus changed our name from the moment we became independent to Fertilia, derived from his own last name Fertilius.
